Pedro Quintana. Associate.
Mr. Quintana joined the firm as an Intern in August 2015. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana (Cum Laude). He also passed Level III of the CFA program.
His experience includes projects in: architectural glass, automotive dealerships, aviation services, construction materials, ecommerce, expanded metal, food & beverage, glass containers, locks & cabinet hardware, metal cabinets, mobile passenger transport solutions, real estate, retail, and textiles.
In the fall of 2021, he joined McKinsey & Co as an Associate in the Mexico City Office.
Iñaki Aranzabal. Associate.
Mr. Aranzabal joined the firm as an Intern in March 2014. He holds an MBA from London Business School and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana.
He has participated in various assignments including: aviation services, construction materials, drugstores, education, food & beverage, language schools, locks & cabinet hardware, metal cabinets, logistics, personal care, pharma commercialization & manufacturing, retail, restaurant chains, software development, wound care, and writing supplies.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Aranzabal was an Intern at J.P. Morgan México.
In the fall of 2020, he joined McKinsey & Co as an Associate in the Mexico City Office.
Luis Lascurain. Associate.
Mr. Lascurain joined the firm as an Intern in June 2011. He holds an MBA from Stanford GSB and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana. He also passed Level II of the CFA program.
He has extensive experience covering a broad range of industries including: advertising agencies, architectural glass, cinemas, construction materials, dairy products, drugstores, education, electrical cable & wire, food & beverage, glass containers, hardware products, household cleaning products, land oil rigs, locks & cabinet hardware, microfinance, packaging labels, personal care, pharma commercialization & manufacturing, private equity, retail, wholesale distribution, and wood particle boards.
He participates in the investment committee of Fondo Fénix, a local venture capital firm, where he manages the M&A process and strategy, having closed investments involving amateur sports platforms, fitness centers, medical device sterilization, and mobile app games development. He is currently the Business Operations Manager of Trace Genomics in Palo Alto, CA.
Arturo Zapata. Senior Analyst.
Mr. Zapata joined the firm as an Analyst in August 2014. He holds an MBA from London Business School and a B.S. in Operations Research and Information Engineering from Cornell University.
He has participated in a broad range of assignments including: auto auctions, automotive dealerships, construction materials, corporate stands and furniture, food & beverage, NGO's, personal care, plumbing materials distribution, publishing, retail, textiles, and writing supplies.
He is currently the Head of Business Planning of Corporación Zapata, a leading automobile and truck dealership group in Mexico.
Jorge Vargas. Associate.
Mr. Vargas joined the firm as an Analyst in 2003 and rejoined as an Associate in August 2009. He holds an MBA from the Sloan School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana.
He has extensive experience covering a broad range of industries including: agribusiness financing, advertising, auto parts, automobile distribution, automobile lubricants, coating, construction developers & construction materials, education, electrical cable & wire, energy, financial institutions, food & beverage, gaming, insurance, land oil rigs, magazine publishing & distribution, offshore services, packaging labels, personal care, pharma, transport (public, school & freight) software development, steel transformation, various retail, and waste management.
In the fall of 2015, he joined Tresalia Capital as Vice President and currently manages a portfolio investment in Atlanta, GA.
Adrián Haddad. Senior Analyst.
Mr. Haddad joined the firm as an Analyst in March 2010. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Anáhuac.
He has participated in a broad range of assignments including: publishing, construction, pharmaceuticals, and food & beverage.
He is currently the Director of Operations in Grupo HG, an automobile dealership group in northern Mexico.
José Luis González. Senior Analyst.
Mr. González joined the firm as an Intern in March, 2010. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana.
He has participated in a broad range of assignments including: automobile lubricants, coffee processing, construction materials, education, energy, food & beverages, furniture, housing development, infrastructure, gaming, offshore services, packaging labels, retail and wholesale distribution, and software development.
In the fall of 2015, he joined McKinsey & Co as an Associate in the Mexico City Office, thereafter becoming Head of Strategy and Planning in Uber Mexico. He is currently the VP of Business Planning at Kavak.
Mónica Gras. Senior Analyst.
Ms. Gras joined the firm as an Intern in March 2007. She holds an MBA from Stanford GSB and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana (Cum Laude).
She has participated in projects in various industries including: agribusiness, coatings, construction materials, energy projects, food & beverage, financial institutions, houseware, infrastructure, insurance brokerage, personal care, pharma, plastic, steel transformation, and waste management.
In the fall of 2012, she joined Renewable Energy Trust as an Associate in the San Francisco Office. She currently serves as Director of Finance at Zignal Labs in San Francisco.
José Naffah. Senior Analyst.
Mr. Naffah joined the firm as an Intern in November 2006. He holds an MBA from UCLA's Business School and a B.S. in Economics from Universidad Iberoamericana (Summa Cum Laude).
He has participated in a broad range of assignments including: agribusiness, auto parts, construction development & construction materials, distribution, education, energy projects, financial institutions, food and beverage, houseware, insurance brokerage, logistics, personal care, pharma, plastic, telematics, textile, steel transformation, and waste management.
In the fall of 2012, he joined McKinsey & Co as an Associate in the Mexico City Office. Subsequently, he joined BBVA Bancomer in 2016 as Commercial Development Director of Wholesale Banking and Asset Management, and since July 2018 serves as Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the Board.
Gerardo Ruiz. Associate.
Mr. Ruiz joined the firm as an Intern in January 2006. He holds an MBA from UCLA's Business School and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana (Cum Laude).
He has participated in projects in various industries including: auto parts, coatings, construction development & construction materials, financial institutions, food, insurance, pharma, retail, and steel transformation.
In the fall of 2011, he joined Walmart Mexico as Sub-Director of Strategic Planning in charge of M&A, and thereafter became Home Delivery Platform Director. He is currently the CEO of Tiendas Neto, a supermarket chain with over 1,500 stores in Mexico.
Pedro Rivas. Senior Analyst.
Mr. Rivas joined the firm as an Analyst in December 2002. He holds an MBA from Stanford GSB and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana.
He has participated in a broad range of assignments including: financial institutions, food & beverage, retail, and steel transformation.
In the fall of 2007, he joined Apple as iPhone Planning Manager. From 2016 to 2020, he served as Global Director of New Business at Cabify. He is currently the General Manager of Mercado Pago Mexico.
Juan Carlos Pardo. Associate.
Mr. Pardo joined the firm in 1998 as its first Analyst upon obtaining a B.A. in Management from Tecnológico de Monterrey. In 2001 he became an Associate.
He has extensive experience in the locks, hardware, construction materials, and dairy industries.
In 2013, he joined Nestlé Mexico in the international trade area and is currently the Director for Corporate Affairs, responsible for defining the corporate relations and the social responsibility strategy. In addition, he heads the group’s institutional relations with government, academia, and private trade groups. Mr. Pardo was President of the National Industrial Dairy Association during 2014 – 2017.
